Crescents Recipe


Homemade Crescents Ingredients
  • 2 (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs (Optional: save some egg white to glaze the dough)
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
clip_image002 Directions 1. Dissolve yeast in warm water. 2. Stir in sugar, salt, eggs, shortening, and 2 cups of flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in remaining flour until smooth. Scrape dough from side of bowl. Knead dough, then cover it and let rise in a warm place until double (about 1-1/2 hours). 3. Punch down dough. Divide in half. Roll each half into a 12-inch circle. Spread with butter. Cut into 10 to 15 wedge. Roll up the wedges starting with the wide end. Place rolls with point under on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise until double (about 1 hour). Optional: Add glaze here. 4. Bake at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) for 12-15 minute or until golden brown. Brush tops with butter when they come out.

Apple pull apart bread

Glaze: 1 stick of butter 1 cup Brown sugar 1/2 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 4 tablespoons confectionary sugar 2 apples cubbed White bread dough Dash of nutmeg and white sugar Melt butter. Stir in brown sugar. Add milk and vanilla. Turn off heat. Add confectionary sugar. Heat oven 350º grease baking pan Toss apples with 1/2 cup of glaze. Cut dough into 12 serving size pieces. Layer dough and apples in pan and drizzle with glaze. Reserve 1/2 cup to glaze once bread is cool. Cook 1 hour. Let cool 2 hours. Once cool plate and top with rest of glaze and the sugar and nutmeg.

pin cushion

Now…for the cutest little framed pin cushion:
I love how this turned out! The frame is from the Liberty of London Collection via Target $3.99
I think this corner is my favorite section of the craft room.  It’s where vintage meets a little modern with a twist of trash junk to jewel thrown in.  Also, has a little family heirlooms as well. (the cedar library table,  large blue Mason canisters, & my Mom’s retro aqua sewing machine.)
My inspiration board is literally from the trash.  I did a separate post here.
