Sweet little pinwheels, made from the colorful pages of a Little Golden Book about Big Bird. The sticks are made from re-purposed parts from a child's no longer used game.

Who doesn't love a Golden Book? Every now and then, a sweet children's book does not make it past the love of a child. Sad, but true..that the little people these are made for love them so much that they are no longer whole stories anymore and therefore can not be used for their original purpose. I seek these out, look for the good parts and give them new life...this time in the form of another classic favorite of children and adults alike...the pinwheel.

arise strange bird single card

handcrafted in small batches, this abstract bird is so special to me. it was the bird designed for the cover of a book i wrote several years ago. the book didn't do so well, but I've reclaimed this sweet and strange bird for a quirky 4x6 card that speaks peculiar beauty into so many occasions.

this card is made of 100 percent recycled paper and includes a 100 percent recycled envelope.
the fabric consists of burlap, organic cotton cloth and unbleached vintage muslin.
the paper bird is hand-cut from a beat-up, rescued shopping bag. (why recycle when you can upcycle, right!)
a scrap of upcycled fabric gives the bird wings.
a vintage cream-colored button decks the bird's wing.

all pieces of fabric, paper & button are sewn together and adhered to the card.
the card is protected and packaged in a compostable, biodegradable wood fiber cello wrapper.
this arise card brings eccentric charm to countless occasions.
