Germany - Recycled Plank Furniture

All our furniture is individually designed and handmade by London born designer-maker Michael Ferguson. Michael began recycling old pine floorboards into furniture 15 years ago in Australia. He eventually moved to Brighton, England and continued to transform discarded wooden boards into unique, one-off designs.
Now in Berlin, his favourite material is the palimpsest patina rich, yet humble 100 year old Berlin floorboard. Predominently from living spaces/apartments, each individual board is quietly evocative of the private and personal stories in Berlin’s dramatic political history.
All the materials we use are second hand, reclaimed, pre-used, disused, neglected or discarded, and are sourced from the street and old buildings in and around Berlin/Brandenburg.

I sell some of the oldest wood products on ETSY! Some of the reclaimed barn wood I use originally came from Old Growth Giant Redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens), which grow exclusively along the Northern California Coast, and can be over 1800 years old! Its impossible to get wood like this anymore. These beautiful old growth trees, which were harvested from as early as the 1850's, are now protected from being harvested.

Wiki Facts: Sequoia sempervirens is the sole living species of the genus Sequoia in the cypress family Cupressaceae. Common names include coast redwood, California redwood, and giant redwood. It is an evergreen, long-lived, monoecious tree living 1200 – 1800 years or more. This species includes the tallest trees on Earth, reaching up to 379 feet (115.5 m) in height and up to 26 feet (7.9 m) diameter at breast height.

Upcycled Industrial Pendant Light Pair, Vintage Cage Lights - SALE

Pair of pendant light made using upcycled vintage industrial work lights, circa 50s-ish. Made from all vintage recycled materials, with the exception of a new keyless lamp socket. Ceiling plate is antique brass nipple design with original patina and complements the pendant nicely. Reproduction Marconi style squirrel cage bulb included, which adds to the charm. Also accepts any medium based bulb.
